HKAMF 2011– Open Letter to visitors

October, 2010

Dear Friends of the recording industry,
Re: Hong Kong Asian Pop Music Festival – 23rd March, 2011

The IFPI Hong Kong Group, representing the Hong Kong recording industry is pleased to announce that a major music event in driving recorded music across Asia is about to be launched. It is the music extravaganza cum song contest entitled:

Hong Kong Asian Pop Music Festival – 香港亞洲流行音樂節

The event is to be held 23rd March, 2011 at the prestigious Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The event organized by us, through collaboration by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and supported by Create Hong Kong, HKSAR, will bring top performers from all participating countries to grace the event, and recording artistes as contestants from the 7 countries/territories namely (in alphabetical order) China, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan to compete for the title of the next supernova. The TV show of the event will be broadcast across the region.

The idea is to unite the markets into one common music market, to bring media and professional buyers to look for common stars for exploitation across Asia and beyond. Naturally, developing the artists in the Mainland is part of the aim.

Industry professionals are welcome to attend the HKAMF by contacting the undersigned in good time to ensure access to the event. The event is right in the middle of Hong Kong Entertainment Expo and early travel arrangement is recommended. We will also publish and update information on HKAMF on our website: from time to time.

Your interest to support this event is highly appreciated.

Yours truly,
For and on behalf of
International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (Hong Kong Group) Limited
